Thundercats Bandai Line Continued! (Part 4)

Hello! If you've read the previous posts in this series then you can just skip down to the next paragraph now. If you haven't read the rest of the posts in this series you may want to catch up first. Part 1 picks up where Bandai left off, with Wave 4. Part 2 covers Wave 5 and as you can probably guess, part 3 covers Wave 6. Enjoy! (From Actionfigureinsider.com ) Before you read the list of guesses for wave 7 there's something that needs to be mentioned. In previous posts in this series, I've mentioned that there was a pattern Bandai seemingly followed when deciding when to release which characters and when. Based off of this pattern, the 7th wave of figures would mainly have been based off of the first half of the final quarter of the show ( roughly episodes 14-20 of season 2). Because of this, it needs to be brought up that between episodes 13 and 14 of season 2 there was going to be a time jump. A ten year time jump. At the end of episode 13 Lion-O would ha...

Thundercats Bandai 4" Lion-O Review

Welcome to my first of what will hopefully be a long line of reviews! I decided to start out with the 4" Lion-O since I'm currently in the process of publishing my series of posts about what we could've gotten in future waves of Thundercats 2011 figures. When I picked up Lion-O this Sunday, I also bought Tygra, Cheetara and the Thundertank, so reviews of these items will be coming soon, if not next.  For each of my reviews I'll be judging the figure off of its design, painting and price (The original cost of the figure and not what I payed for it). I will also be including positive and negative aspects in each category. Now let's dive in! Design:  I was overall very impressed by the design of this figure. It's a very accurate representation of Lion-O in the 2011 series and is very polished. The figure has several points of articulation and is the kind of toy that you don't feel like it's going to break if a kid is too rough with it, but also l...

Thundercats Bandai Line Continued! (Part 3)

(From Gizmodo.com.uk ) I can only imagine running into a Walmart in early 2014, heading straight to the toy aisles and finally arriving at the Thundercats section. The racks of figures are crowded with Hachiman, The Berserkers, Stinger, and many more. Below the figures are the vehicles: The Berserker ship, The Hovercat, and the Feliner that came out a few waves ago. Next to these is the Cat's Lair playset that came out last fall. I browse for a second before grabbing Hammerhand and heading to the checkout. Sadly, because of the cancellation of the show, this was never possible. We don't know what we would have gotten in the Bandai Thundercats toyline past wave 3, but in this series of posts I'm speculating on what was likely to come. In this post I talk about Wave 6, which would have focused on the latter half of the first thirteen episodes of season 2. I've also done post posts about Wave 4 and Wave 5 which you might want to check out before reading this po...

Thundercats 2011 Bandai line continued! (Part 2)

Welcome back! In this week's Thundercats post I'll be speculating on wave 5 of the Bandai Thundercats 4" toy line. In part 1 I talked about the fourth wave of toys in an article which can be found here and next week will be the third part about wave 6 Following the pattern I talked about in part 1, wave 5 would have mainly been focused on the first few episodes of season 2. Sadly, as most of you already know, the second season was never made😥. However, fans did got some closure from Dan Norton's "Thundercats: the rest of the series" In which he talked about what would have happened in season 2. If you're a fan of the 2011 series, I highly recommend you listen to it. Today I'll be making all speculations off of this podcast so lets pick up where we left off, with wave 5. Wave 5 --- Fall 2013  Basic Figures: - Lion-O v.3 (Season 2 look) - Lynx-O - Evil Pumyra - Berbil pack v.2 - Classic Panthro   Deluxe Figures: - Royal Lion-O - Ratar-O ...

Thundercats 2011 Bandai line continued (Part 1)

In August 2011, Bandai toys put out a line of 4'' Thundercats figures to accompany the new cartoon.  We got an impressive range of characters, vehicles, and a playset but when the show ended after only 26 episodes, the toy line went with it after only two waves and many collectors who enjoyed the show were left with gaping holes in their collection where key characters like Pumyra, Kaynar and Addicus, and the Berbils should have been. (From ActionFigureInsider.com ) Although the unreleased third wave was finally revealed to the public in 2016, as well as little tidbits of what was being planned, we still don't know what we would've gotten after that. In this post I'll be speculating on what future waves of the 4'' Thundercats line would have had it continued. I'll start with a recap of the toys we did get as well as the unreleased third wave in case anyone wants to refresh their memory. Wave 1 --- Fall 2011 Basic Figures: -Lion-O - Tygra...
